At Nurturing Newborns, we believe that an informed parent will be a relaxed parent. As a result, they will be better equipped to enjoy those first precious moments with their newborn. Our goal is to provide biological and adoptive parents with the knowledge and skills needed to provide a nurturing and safe environment for their infant.
The Newborn Specialists provide services and education to assist with all aspects of newborn and infant care. We provide guidance, support, and education for the parents, as well as nurturing and care for the infants. Our services can be tailored to fit your family's needs.
Services we offer...
- Education and information as parents prepare for baby's arrival
- Observation and consultation with parents after the baby's arrival
- Lactation support
- Competent care of your baby so you can rest
to the newborn:
- Help in establishing a routine and schedule
- Keep logs of feeding, diapering, and sleeping
- Feed, bathe, and nurture infants
- Help prepare bottles and formula
- Launder infant linens and clothing
Consultation:
Occasionally, questions and problems may arise after the baby's arrival. Feeding problems, sleeping difficulties, or scheduling issues can cause stress and concern for parents. The Newborn Specialist will come to your home, observe the infant, and discuss your concerns. They can offer practical advice, based on years of experience. The calm advice and encouragement from a Newborn Specialist can alleviate much of the stress and anxiety, allowing a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for the whole family.
Education
The Newborn Specialists at Nurturing Newborns have developed a curriculum that will educate parents in the day-to-day care of their new baby. Some aspects of care include:

For Adoptive Families
Nurturing Newborns offers education to families as they prepare for adoption. Through a classroom setting, or a personalized one-on-one experience, the Newborn Specialist will provide important information concerning the day-to-day care of an infant (see above). The educators at Nurturing Newborns create a safe learning environment that will help the adoptive parents feel comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns about their infant.

- We provide 2-hour consultations to observe infants, answer questions, and offer suggestions
- Our hours are flexible and may include weekends
