  Qualifications

  • B.S. in Education, University of Nebraska
  • Extensive training in the Fussy Baby Model of Home Visitation (FAN)
  • 2010 to present:  Program Manager, Trainer, Lead Home Visitor, Fussy Baby Network Colorado
  • Developed a unique resource that provides respite care to high risk families with infants or toddlers with special needs
  • Member, Special Kids, Special Care NICU Consortium
  • Certification from the Infant Adoption Training Initiative
  • Member of Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health
  • Easter Seals/Colorado Respite Coalition Grant Recipient, 2019
  • Named one of four most innovative respite care organizations in the country in 2020 by ARCH National Respite and Resource Center

Meet the Staff



​Carol Locascio
Carol is a wife and mother of 3 daughters. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Her work included caring for elderly patients and their families. Carol has experience caring for medically fragile infants, toddlers, premature infants and multiples. She has strong communication and relationship skills, and she works to care for and nurture the entire family.

Pamela Young
Pamela is a Registered Nurse and a mother of two children ages 22 and 20. She had 10 years  of professional experience in various hospital settings as an RN prior to becoming a stay at home mom. Upon returning to nursing she worked as an elementary School Nurse for Cherry Creek School District from 2008 to 2012 and has a passion for young children. She volunteers in her church nursery, loving and caring for infants and toddlers. Pamela believes that her nursing experience, strong assessment skills, and deep desire to care for others will enhance the services provided at Nurturing Newborns.

Denise Pruitt
Denise is married and the mother of four young men ranging in age from 13 to 31. She has been working with families and young children for 30 years, including preschool classrooms and home visitation programs. She excels at supporting high risk and under-served populations, and she is passionate about families receiving the support they need to thrive.

Rose Blume
Rose is married and has 4 grown children. She has a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Special Education.  Rose recently retired after 25 years of teaching preschool and elementary school-aged children with special needs  She has a heart for parents and families and the challenges they face on a daily basis. 

Cristiene Moreno Machado
Cristiane Moreno is the mother of two sons, ages 10 and 17. She is bilingual and has cared for young children in the school and church settings for many years. She is patient and calm and has a heart for families with young children that have disabilities and families in challenging situations. 

Chelsea Garcia
Chelsea Garcia is the mother of a child with special needs so she understands first hand the importance of having a network of people able to support the dynamic of a family! She is excited to share her love and energy and thrives off being integrated into each unique family! She is a lead teacher for a Christian preschool, primarily working with toddlers. She has also been a nanny for several families of newborns along with their older siblings. Being flexible and having a “go with the flow” attitude is one of her best qualities!

Jenae Basham
Jenae is married and the mother of three children ages 15,12 and 9. She has experience working as a paraprofessional in kindergarten classrooms and currently teaches kindergarten through 3rd grade students at her church. Jenae has a passion for supporting and encouraging parents, including her own siblings, in their parenting journey. ​
